Beginner Sewing Class: Sew Your Own Tote Bag

***Must have taken the "Learn how to use a Sewing Machine Class" or Must have prior sewing experience (can effectively thread a machine, wind bobbins, run a sewing machine, stitch with straight seams). If a student comes to class and does not know how to use a sewing machine, they will be dismissed. ***

Fabric needs to be cut and ready to sew - Can come in before class to use our supplies to cut - Must be arranged

Join our beginner sewing class and create your own tote bag! Perfect for newcomers, this class introduces essential sewing skills. By the end, you'll have a tote bag you made yourself.

What You'll Learn

Class Structure

- Introduction and Safety: Review safety protocols

- Step-by-step Guidance: Focus on specific skills with demos.

- Hands-on Practice: Time to practice with instructor guidance.

- Q&A Sessions: Ask questions and troubleshoot issues.

Materials Needed

Bring the following for a successful class:

- 2 colors Fabric for tote and straps

• Outside fabric: 2 pieces @ 19x17.5 inches and 2 pieces @ 4x26 inches

• Inside & pocket: 2 pieces @ 19x17.5 inches and 1 piece @ 10x10 inches

  *Try to use fabrics without a large design or stripes on them. Solid Colors or fabrics with small designs work best. Nothing directional or with words.

- Matching or complementary thread

- Basic sewing supplies: (thread cutting scissors, straight pins, seam ripper, etc)
